Ports Notifier

PortsNotifier is notifier for new macports outdated programs. It's kind like "Updater Manager" in Ubuntu, but it works for macports.

PortsNotifier will be open source and free to use, after I releasing some workable versions.:).

The functions that I expact:

• Check whether the macports is installed
• Sync all ports tree automatically.
• Display how many outdated ports there are.
• Provide a list to show which ports are outdated, and help user to upgrade them.
• Work with crowl
• Eye-candy~

There are some developing snapshots.

Two ports, Python24 and expat, are outdated..(May 27, 2007)

Cautious:The notifier is not release, the PortsNotifier.app is just used to test and get feedbacks.

Download Source: PortsNotifier source

1. Download the notifier,and unpack it. Then drag PortsNotifier.app into Application folder.
2. Copy PortsHelper into /usr/local/bin
3. Copy the org.xulei.portsnotifier.plist to /System/Library/LaunchDeamons.

1. Delete /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.xulei.portsnotifier.plist
2. Remove PortsHelper in /usr/local/bin
3. Remove PortsNotifier in Application Folder
