Hi all, I am Eddy Xu, and my Chinese name is Xu Lei. Though I am a programming fan and also get a job for programming, I can not be considerd as a geek, at least my friends said so:). Now I am living in Wuhan, Hubei, my hometown, and planning to study in US in this fall.

I received my dual-bachelor degrees, which are Science and Technology of Electronic, and Computer Science, in Wuhan University in July 2005. Now I am looking forward a opportunity for graduate course in USA.

And I had worked in Sina.com(NASDAQ:SINA) and Roxbeam.com. I had experiences on distributed storage system and P2P video system in the companies that I had worked for.

Since the work experiances, I have interests in large distributed system, grid computing and the design patterns in network programming. Hopes that I can have a chance to make research in such fields.

Besides, I have made a research on Distributed Storage Cluster.

But after all those, I have two cocoa projects in developing or just in plan. All those projects will be open source.

PortsNotifier, as its name mentioned, is a notifier for macports. The notifier will automatic sync the port tree with server, and display the ports outdated on the list. (Look similar to Gmail Notifier?:) ).

The other one(I am planing to named it Pantheon is planing to be a open platform for GTD management and PIM. And it also providing managements for resources like papers and ets. This project is also a Cocoa application.

In my free time, I also write some small programs that simplify my life and work. I will also put them on my projects site if appropriated.

I would like to pursue a Ph.D on Computer Science specialized in Distributed System , High Performance Computing and other related fields.
